Overview
As part of our mission, BamCashea works to infuse environmental stewardship into its projects and programs. To that end, Bamcashea works to educate and inform community leaders about the importance of protecting the environment. We also work to repopulate native tree species in the community. The Norntoma Cooperative recently acquired 6 hectares of land and have already planted a scatter plot of shea seedlings with a perimeter of moringa. Moving forward, BamCashea is planning to assess the lands, and plant the acres with all types of native tree species to Bamboi, especially those that have been affected by illegal logging for exotic lumber and fuel. We are nursing seedlings of shea, baobab, acacia, and mahogany for later planting.
